Turning satellite, model and ground data into decision tools for climate and environmental risk in South Asia

I design and build air-quality platforms, Earth-observation analytics, web-GIS applications and decision-support systems for governments, research institutes and development programmes across the Hindu Kush Himalaya. Seven-plus years at ICIMOD, RIMES and beyond, from WRF-Chem runs and Google Earth Engine pipelines to production dashboards.

Expertise

Four disciplines, one aim: decisions grounded in good data

  • Air Quality & Atmospheric Modelling

Operational air-quality systems that bring ground monitors, satellite products and chemical transport model output into one place decision-makers can use.

    • WRF-Chem (online-coupled meteorology-chemistry model)
    • HYSPLIT dust forecast
    • Chemical transport model (CTM) baseline and scenario simulation support
  • Remote Sensing & Earth Observation

Satellite time series turned into flood, drought and land-cover information that decision-makers can open in a browser.

    • Copernicus Sentinel-1 SAR (GRD)
    • Copernicus Sentinel-2 optical (L2A)
    • Landsat Collection 2
  • Web GIS & Spatial Data Platforms

Map-based decision-support applications and the spatial data services behind them, from database to browser.

    • OGC WMS/WFS/WCS
    • OPeNDAP and NetCDF subsetting via THREDDS
    • NetCDF / HDF / GRIB / GeoTIFF
  • Environmental Decision Support Systems

Operational systems that keep observations, satellite data and model output in step, and turn them into decisions.

    • Ground-station observation feeds
    • Satellite Earth observation products (via Google Earth Engine and direct downloads)
    • WRF-Chem and HYSPLIT model output

Process

How I work

  1. 01

    Discovery call

A free 20-minute call to understand your question, users and data.

  2. 02

    Scope & proposal

A short written scope: deliverables, timeline, and what I need from your team.

  3. 03

    Build & iterate

Working versions early, reviewed with the people who'll use them.

  4. 04

    Handover & support

Documentation, training for your team, and support once it's live.
